It's much too large for a snake mite, they're not much larger than a pen tip. It also does not appear to be a tick based on body shape. It almost looks like an oddly color water beetle, or a young roach?

I'm voting young roach. Can you put it next to a quarter or something for comparison? Also what substrate are you using?
