    February 2017 Update

Olympias went off feed last October, so I brumated her until Feb. 9. She didn't lose much weight - she's fed twice since then, and is now at 908g clean.

I think her cross-banding is now much less distinct, and it appears her speckling is growing more uniform. (She's now about 2 years and 8 months). I plan to feed her two jumbo mice every 10 days, and see how it goes. I think she might be a tad heavy. She's a little over 4 feet..what do you think ? Here are some pics from today:

She's very pretty sc. She does look just a little chunky in the 2nd pic but at her age 900g seems about right and your feeding schedule seems on point too. My MBK was a tad over 900g at 3.5 y/o. She would eat 1-2 jumbo mice every 10-14 days.

I rehomed them to make room for an albino carpet and an olive python. It was tough but I realized that I prefer working with larger animals. I still love and miss them . They went to a really great home though.

    Rats ? / Weight check

Took two jumbo mice after shed about a week ago..This is a clean weight.

I was wondering if I should try a small F/T rat out on her. Anyone else have kings that take rats regularly ? As I recall, Firemanv and El-Ziggy said their kings didn't much care for them....

I just picked up a lav striped cal king that was eating rats at the shop I got him/her (not sure yet) from. I would imagine it's like any other snake they just kind of have their preference and a don't fix what aint broke kind of thing. One of my corn snakes has eaten a rat pup here and there, she's my biggest female as well. It never hurts to try though so why not give it a try

I did ! She took a small 53g rat last Friday, which my finicky Ball Python refused. I'm not going to force the issue, since I still have a good supply of jumbo mice in the freezer. It's still good to know that I have a "go-to girl" when the bp decides to be snooty at feeding time...
