If i were to put spagnum moss in my tank would that help with humidity??

It wouldn't be a good idea to use it as a complete substrate, but if you put some in a disposable tupperware/gladware container, and mist it occassionally, it will act as a little snake sauna and help greatly with shedding. If you use it as a full substrate, it will be way too wet and will cause belly rot. Not a good thing.

I keep a little in me warm hide as the substrate tends to really dry out over there. The moss keeps it a little more humid

Yes - if you have it in a hide then he will of course touch it. He may even burrow under it.

Your bp may also do the same Issa did when I had moss in his tank. Issa moved the moss over so that it covered one end of his half log.
