    Mite update

My battle against mites has been going good. Her mite problem has gone down and what we originally thought was a pattern on her sides came off... it was that bad. When we bought her from her previous owner they had wiped her down before we got to see her. And we didn't really know what to look for when we looked got mites. It took us so long to figure out she had them because I put her on eco earth substrate and I mistook mites for grains of substrate. I feel like a bad owner but im doing everything I can to fix the problem.

In the future put all new arrivals into a very minimalist QT home, and pre-treat the QT enclosure, hides, and paper substrate with PAM/NIX/permethrin. You will know very quickly whether the snake came with free mites.
