Boa soaking?
Ok so I got a baby sunglow last Tuesday. She ate 2 days later fine. Last night I noticed around 11pm she decided to go into her water bowl to soak. She has been in there since then. I noticed she is shedding but not in the normal way of head to tail. Her eyes are clear(no eye caps) but she has shed on the mid part of her body. When I talked to the breeder Wednesday he told me something about she should be shedding soon. My question though is it possible she went into blue already and this is her shed? I mean its not a normal shed like I said. Her neck was wrinkly which led to me believe she would shed soon but like I said she didn't go into blue and now she is soaking and she has shed coming off. Could it have been stuck shed? Should I just let her sit in the water bowl until she comes out? I picked her out today and she just looked at me like I was interrupting something important so I put her back in and she seemed happy again.

Well after some sleuth work, it turns out Vicky was shedding but it looks like she went into blue at the breeder and then just came out of blue when she was shipped so the stressed must have messed up her schedule thus why she was soaking for a day. Between her and I, we got her shed off with eye caps and tail end and now she happy, bright red and was relaxing on my hand. Now she is stretched out in her cage relaxing under the heat.

Good to hear, that's pretty much sounds like what happened. Inproper humidity during and the stress of shipping. Assisted shed.

I'm surprised that you didn't have those facts beforehand.
Anyway, I bet she looks even better now!
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Oh yeah definitely. I don't have a camera to post pics but she looks exactly like the pics of her I posted from the breeder. I figured he used lighting to enhance her colors but nope, she really is that red and she already loves being out. She sat on the back of my neck using her tail to hold my shirt and looking around for about 30 mins last night. She loves to come out just like Rosey. Just crazy how red she is. I really need to get a camera lol.
