    Obese?

I had asked when I posted some updated collection pictures, but I got no responses, so I'm asking specifically here. Georgette is about 8 or 9 months old, 223 grams as of wednesday after having eaten on monday. She's up about 100 grams since I got her back in september, but I think she's mostly packed it on in girth. Is obesity something I should worry about when she's this size? Does she look obese to anyone but me?

I know she has a bit of shed stuck to her, I'm not very worried about it.

She looks like a healthy snake to me. Of course I could be wrong.

Man my girl is like 6 months old and over 300 grams. I think you're ok. She looks like she could use some length, how long in inches? I know its a big pain in the butt to measure them, but give it a go. Mine is about 2 feet long

    Re: Obese?

She looks perfectly fine. They all grow at different paces. Some grow long and lean before bulking up. Some bulk up first and then grow longer. Some do it fast...some do it slow. Don't judge an individual ball python's growth pattern against any other individual.

I think the main reason you think it looks fat is that alot of ball pythons you see are "maintenance fed" pet store snakes, and they are thin.

People tend to forget ball pythons are supposed to be chubby and round, and not angular.

She looks like a perfectly healthy and fast growing baby ball python to me.
