Ever since Banshee's last shed,I have been seeing little dark brown dots which looked like dry blood.Today I decided to do something about it.When I first saw them,I said to myself that I will keep checking to make sure it is not mites.I did not think it was blood.Well,I took a Q-tip and rubbed on the spots, and it turned out to be dry blood. What should I do?His/her skin is getting wrinkly, this is a sign of shedding, right?

Any idea where the blood might be coming from? What is your humidity/temps like? Have you changed anything in your cage recently?

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.

Does Banshee look like he scraped his nose or his body on part of the cage?

My humidity is 60-65 throughout the day,it fluctuates.Temps are 90 basking spot, and 85 ambient.I just changed from newspaper to repti-bark,but this happened before i changed. He does rub against the cage,is that it?

It could be. Where is he bleeding from? Do you have anything in your tank that your snake could rub up against that bad? Have you ever seen him up against the screen top with his nose? It could be nose rub if it is coming from his head and you've seen him up against the screen. Might you have any pics of this? It would be easier to try to figure out if we could see it.

He looks like he was bleeding from his neck, and the middle of his body,it looks waay better now.I have a water bowl that might be the problem. Not the screen top.No pix.Sorry.Hopefully i will get a digicam next week.I am not too worried,as i said he looks better.

Well, you might want to dab a little neosporin on his neck to help prevent infection. Be real careful doing that though, you don't want to hurt him anymore, or antagonize him.

Good idea Schlyne. I'd also like to add that if it is big time persistant or is there after his next shed, a vet trip might not be a bad idea. Good luck man, and let us know how it turns out.
