Looking for recommendations on a morph

I am new to the hobby, just purchasing my first ball python about 3 months ago. I haven't had a chance to determine the sex so its name is Max. It could be Maxime when we determine. The question I have is all these morphs out there, is there a good morph to purchase that is not so expensive? The ones I tend to like are usually $500 and up. I really am getting into this hobby and want a second snake but not ready to drop a car payment yet on a ball. I know this is such an opinion based question, but I'm looking for some suggestions as to what morphs to begin to investigate. I know I can always get another norm, but I want to grow in this hobby and maybe one day breed them. Breeding is way off, but just a thought.

I'd suggest looking down the morph list and pictures. Also if you have a good reptile specific store near by and just see what they have at what price to give you an idea.

There are plenty of nice looking morphs within the affordable range. Spider, pastel, pinstripe, lesser, cinnamon, and mojave can all be purchased from breeders for under 100 as hatchlings (I think around 80 dollars is a fair average). Combos of the mentioned morphs are also readily available and not so much more expensive except for mojo+lesser. I'm partial to the bumblebees myself, but I also own a cinnapin and a lesser bee that are both lovely.

If you're looking to begin a breeding collection, I'll also say that I purchased 3 of my snakes from an auction website and paid about half market value on my lesser bee and my cinnapin (my mojave was about full price, but eh). You can get good deals on some nice morphs if you keep your eyes open

My advice is go look here at the morph section. http://www.worldofballpythons.com// You can also get lucky on deals. I picked up an 8 week old high white pied girl for $200 on a Petsmart black Friday deal. She was normally $400. They told me she was a problem feeder who didn't eat in almost 3 weeks. I got her home and she ate in 2 days and hasn't stopped since then. She has packed on almost 200g since I got her on November 28th. She loves to eat. Just have to keep an eye out and be quick. I barely beat 3 other people to her on that Friday morning Now I gotta find me a sweet deal on an albino het pied boy

I second this. Recommending a morph is like recommending a style. Everyone likes something different. I personally love Bananas, Albinos and Pieds. I'd recommend going to a reptile show to see what's out there and what catches your eye.

They're beautiful creatures. Be ready to pay top dollar though.
