First time ball python owner and help with new snake

Firstly, "Hi".

As the title says, I am new to BP's. I have had a corn snake for for over a year now and he is doing great and a BP was a dream come true for me to own.

I got her on Saturday from Pets at Home. The shop said they she is not a voracious feeder but eats warmed fluffs and she is about 6 months old. She is a wonderful snake ( I will post a pic asap).

I was told her feeding day Sunday, so the day after I got her I tried to feed her in a separate box from the viv she is in. She struck the mouse first time but did not eat it, She sort of constricted it for a few minutes and then just laid on it. I also tried feeding back in the viv as this is what the shop did but no luck, After a while she hissed at me because i tried remove the kitchen towel she was on to stop her eating aspen, so I thought, let her be.

I know I shouldn't worry too much but after having a corn that eats like a dream, it's slightly worrying to come across this.

I have her in a viv like this http://www.bluelizardreptiles.co.uk/..._8ZBoCBCrw_wcB and the temps are how they should be. I have one hide and will add and identical one tonight and a water bowl.

Any tips/reassurance on the above would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on the beautiful new BP. If your temps and humidity are on point I'd say you have nothing to worry about. What are you using as a heat source? Is it controlled by a thermostat? Refusing a first meal on the 2nd day in a new environment isn't too uncommon. I'd offer food again in 5-7 days inside the enclosure. I also wouldn't handle the snake until it's eaten at least twice consecutively. Best wishes and keep us posted.

Thanks Ziggy. I have a heat matt with thermostat. A water bowl that just touches the heat mat. I will put the second hide in tonight and leave her until Sunday, so it's 7 days.

Also what morph is she, if anyone can help?

Good looking little normal.
Leave her be for a week or so.
Moving her and handling her is only adding to the stress she is already having for being in a new environment.

Thanks Pit. Yeah she is lovely looking. I will let her settle now. Do you think I should just leave the one hide in there or add the 2nd tonight? Just want to do what's best for her.

Sorry I meant to say the shop had been feeding her two fluffs a week. Do you think looking at her size, that this is right, as the fluffs they sold me look smal but I may be thinking that due to my corn being on small mice now.

Congrats on your new bp. Also welcome to the forum, like everyone stated above just let it settle in for a week and you should see a differance.

One more question. How long shall I keep her in that viv. She hasn't loads of room and just wanna make sure it's right and do you prefer rubs or vivs for balls?
