Genetics / Paterns that get passed down to the hatchlings?

I was gonna post this in the Morph section but when i went to it, it looked like it was only about "What morph is this" type thing

I'm about to get a calico, but i always wanted a sugar (there whites look better to me)

anyway the calico im looking to get doesnt have very much white, and im wondering if the babys will have the same amout of white or is it random and every hatchling will be different, i know that some animals the better looking animals u breed together the better the babys will look, now i dont think that applys to ball pythons

But, if its random as in some babys will have a lot of white patches and some will have darker shades or whatever i think i will get him, but if the calico patches will be the same as the Fathers then i think ill past until the right sugar comes along

With Calicos/Sugars, the amount of white passed along to offspring is seemingly random.
