    ASF Surrogate

I came back into town Sunday after being gone 5 days and found that I had lost a female mouse and several of her pups. This ASF girl had a litter ready to ween so she got the job of emergency wet nurse. A couple of the remaining pups were weak and over the last two days she's removed them from the nest and eaten them. The rest seem to be doing well enough though.

    ASFs make lovely surrogates.
They can get a little possessive with the babies, so just watch out for that.

The babies look a little scrawny, might want to throw the moms some seeds or suet treats to up their fat and protein levels a little too.
