If a crestie drops its tail, will it come back? I've seen sites that say yes and sites that say no.
Also, if I were to start out with one of the larger enclosures, would it be better to start out with a pair of juvniles (unsexed) or would it be better to start out with two females, or a female and a male? (I realize if that once the male and female get to breeding age, I will have to deal with eggs, and baby care...not something I want to do right away).
I really like the idea that you can keep more than one crestie in a cage, as long as each one has enough territory.
I realize that if I later end up with two males, I will have to seperate them. I'm just wondering what would probably be the best way.
I'm talking about a cage the size of the one that reptile depot has especially for cresties, I think it can hold 2 or 3 for the enclosure.
I won't be getting the cresties for a while, but I'm trying to learn more about them right now.

nope the tail doesn't grow back. for babies make sure the cage is simple so they can find the crickets easy. if you don't want to deal with eggs do not put a male/female together. babies can be together for a while around 4-6 months you should be ok. if you see a male developing seperate him.
thanks

If you look at the caresheet, you'll see a pic of Waldo after she lost her tail, which definitely did not grow back. Your preference and budget will dictate the better choice for what cresties to get and put together. If I had plenty of money and didn't want eggs, I'd buy a couple of females, but that wouldn't be practical on my budget as it is so I'd buy a pair of unsexable juvies and separate later if needed.
