    Reptile Show Question

I was thinking of going to the reptile show in Hamburg Pa. This weekend. I've never been to a reptile show before. Are there good deals on snakes to be had there or would I be better off using local breeders and online (as I've done in the past). I'm not much for crowds and don't want to go there if the prices are not competitive. Thanks!

    Re: Reptile Show Question

I think reptile shows are a great place to look! I am ever suspicious of pictures I see on the internet, so in my opinion, nothing beats being face to face with the animal, being able to handle it, talking directly to the breeder, etc. I have also heard that the last day of an expo is a great time to get deals, as breeders typically want to bring as few animals home as possible.

    Re: Reptile Show Question

The prices at shows are going to be WAY better if you're with the right breeders. You're going to get snakes that would usually sell at $200 go for $100-$150. And, theres no shipping cost

    Reptile Show Question

Be careful. Hubs and I went to the Steel City Reptile Show here in Washington PA... We came home with a few more snakes than I planned onLOL. It's was fascinating seeing all sorts of neat critters.

We got several deals on snakes that I would call competitive.

I would go as many of the local breeders will be there anyway. Even if you don't purchase anything (HAHA YEAH RIGHT) you can still collect business cards and contact info, and get a better feel for what's available in your area.
