need some help
heya,
ok my female Orange Ghost was only 675 grams when she started to refuse meals so since she was only 675 grams i started to get a bit nervous now after 4 weeks of not eating.
when i throw in a live rat of different sizes she just starts hissing if it gets close to her en making "spastic" movements when the rat comes close to her head (the whole thing makes it look like as if she is afraid of the rat).
so yesterday i threw in a mouse and within seconds she grabbed the mouse.... wich left me very confused, but i was like ok, lets thrown in a rat now as she probably is in feeding mode now and she did again start hissing at the rat and not eating it.
and now i am not sure what to do.
should i start offering her more mice or should i start playing the waiting game and just keep offering rats till she desides to take a rat again?
she has eaten 5 or 6 rats before she stopped eating.
is it still possible she is just on a fasting strike now she did take that mouse? or does the fact she took that mouse mean she just doesnt want to eat rats anymore?
please help me out
thanks,
Andrew

Re: need some help
I'd say she's a fussy one. If she will eat mice, give her mice.

any other opinions?
feeding her 5-6 adult mice every feed when she is an adult, not realy something i am comfirtable with as that means 6 moments of bite possibilities.... + the fact she would be more girthy seems a bit tough for a big snake to constrict a small thing as a adult mouse

Try keeping the mice in a container with the rats so they pick up the rat smell then just try offering the rat once in a while

I have tried that and the rat chases the mouse around and tries to hurt or possibly kill it.. which maybe would make the rat smell even more like the mouse. Lol im having th same problem but my guy is only 2 months old...

Maybe it's the size of the rat. Try a pup and see if your snake will eat it, since it's about the same size as an adult mouse.
1. het Pied 1. Albino 1. Lesser 1. Fire 1. OG 1. Pinstripe het VPI Axanthic 1. Mojave Enchi
1. Bumblebee 1. Black Pastel Kingpin 1. Pastel Tiger

and he told me we would would feed her mice and then after a while offer a rat pup same size as a adult mouse indeed.
