    insurance for your collection....

For whatever reason my wife and I were talking about what we would do if our house burned down today and the snakes came up. I would assume big breeders like Mike, Justin, Brian etc... have small business insurance. What about smaller breeders or collectors??? I only have about 50 snakes, I know ONLY 50, but I have a lot of money in them and losing them would be a huge loss both financially and emotionally.
Is this something any else has looked into??? I know I cant be the only one of us that has thought about it.
    Thanks.

For financial insurance you would record your collection and estimated value then have your homeowners/renters insurance bumped up (if necessary) to make sure it would cover that amount. Snakes are treated the same as any other property... this works in case of a theft too but not one getting lose and lost though. I'm speaking from experience with USAA renters insurance only.
