Amazing no one replied to this. These are cool. I didn't know king snakes got that big. Do they ever musk you? Now that would be a lot of musk.

T- talk about a blast from the past. That first shot of my Cal King was a total accident. I just liked the way the camera caught his reflection. To answer your question the Cal King musked a few times as a hatchling but that was about it. The MBK is the sweetest and shyest snake I have. They're both about 4-4.5 ft now. The male is about 600g and the female is about 750g so they're not too big at all. I have them in a split T8 and they do fine.

    I missed this thread.

Great looking Kings Ziggy! That is a cool shot with the reflection.

Glad you brought this back Terminal.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Beautiful Kings! Some day, my Cal King will be that big... he just reached 150g, in a growth spurt after going into a self-imposed brumation for a while at 110g.

Some real beauties there Ziggy! Question - I believe you house them in an AP T8, with Ceramic Heat Emitters. Did you have AP cut holes in the top for the CHEs ?

    Re: My 2 Kings

@ scal- The kings are housed in a divided T8 and I did have AP include the 8" screen cut outs but I'm only using a UTH for their enclosure. Their ambient temps stay around 75-79 which is fine for them. I do have two of my carpets in another split T8 with the 8" screen cutouts and I use a UTH and heat bulbs to boost their ambient temps.
