    Question Question About my Ball Python

    Hey all

    well i bought a Ball Python 2 weeks ago and i have feed him 2 times since a give him a meal every week on Saturdays
    im kind of worried because in all this time i haven't seen any poop in the cage
    im worried about if he might be Constipated or something
    what you guys think about it the reason im asking is because i dont have much experience whit this wonderful animals and im trying to learn
    how long do they take to poop after they eat?

    They go when they are ready to, there is no set schedule, it can be a few days or a few weeks.

    Everything depends on the animal itself (hatchlings utilise most of their prey for growth), prey size, feeding frequency.

    So long there is no huge bulge near the cloaca your BP is ok.

    Another question:
    Why is my ball python not moving too much?
    he stays in te same place almost all day
    i dont know if he is digesting because i feed him on sunday

    Or maybe because doesnt have the right temperature i have him on its hot side 84f and the cool side is like 3-4 degrees less
    right now i only have heat lamp as the source of heat but i bought a heat mat which im not ysing right now because im waiting on the t-stat it should get here in 2-3 days

    sorry for all question as you can see im much more than a begginer:/

    My advice, take him out for while and letbhim move around in your hands, it will get things moving. Be ready to put him back or have some papertowels ready.

    How long should i wait to handle him after feeding him?

    I only wait 1 day and never a problem. Dont listen to people who say 2 days.

    If your hot side is only 83-84 then he may be digesting more slowly than normal. I'd just leave him alone until the t-stat arrives and you get his belly heat set up.

    That is what im planning to do thank you for all your advices this forum is really helpful!!
