    Afraid food is too big!?

    Hi there,

I went to a pet store to get frozen mice and the woman who worked there said that due to her age and size I should up to small F/T rats...she said she had three BP's and seemed like she knew. Well my BP has been on adult mice for the past few months and she seems to be struggling with this small rat! Is the gonna be ok?

She looks okay to me sometimes it just takes them longer to get down a meal. I have one girl that eats 2 weaned rats faster than my other girl eats her 1 rat pup lol. She will get it down eventually.

That is why you learn to judge for yourself what size you need. It will come with time

Re: Afraid food is too big!?

that looks like a good fit to me! itll seem a little odd looking, like it may be too big as its sliding down the neck, and this part usually takes the longest. mainly because their necks are so little compared to the rest of the body. youll want to see a bulge thats a little bigger than the body once it hits the stomach. if it takes longer than 10-15 minutes to get it all the way down, its probably a wee bit too big. if it takes less than 10 minutes, its too small. so 10-15 minutes is where you wanna look for. good luck!

That's what happened when I moved mine to rats his skin stretched out further and turned red like that. But he got it down and now we're eating med rats. After he got the first one down and shed the rest were pretty easy
