Is hook training completely necessary
I have a 4foot boa loves to be held waits to get outta tank, Is it completely necessary to hook train her?, am I able to eventually take her out with out using a hook?

Not at all.
I have never used a hook with my boa. If I wanted to I could literally squish his cheeks in his enclosure and he would just stare at me. My boa is very tame though - if he was very aggressive a hook may be a good idea.

Yeah she is very docile, no aggression at all.. I didn't think I need to hook train her. Thank you always good to hear second opinions!

Yeah no need to if she's very docile. It's more for venomous or pretty aggressive snakes.

It's also used for snakes with a strong food response. Some boas (and keepers) would benefit from it, others don't need it.

We don't hook but know people who do, it's a comfort and safety thing for you and the animal.
basically whatever works for you and the snake is fine, you may only need to use it when their being
pissy so it's a good idea to have the hook close just in case.

Okay ty so much guys!.. She loves being held when I put her back in her tank. She will come up right to the tank. Never bitten or strikes at me.. When I do feed her she won't strike n coil, I have to cover her maybe it's a female thing.. Not being watched

Are you saying that you took a nap with her on you? If so I would not advise that at all. Snakes will escape, that's what they do
