    Lost my baby today

I am new to this site and I have been devastated all day. Approximately a month ago I purchased 2 young bp's. The one has always been very active and curious the other not active at all. She always stayed in her hide. The first feed went well no problems. The second time we fed her, she regurgitated 2 days later. Then she went through a rough shed, she refused to rest last week. This morning I found her dead. I had just checked on her last night and she was active and seemed to be fine. My other 2 bp's are completely fine no problems. I'm trying to figure out what if anything I did wrong. All advice welcomed.

I'm sorry. Sometimes babies just fail to thrive. Usually breeders don't sell those animals though - or at least, reputable ones don't. Or, she could have been sick for a while, but since BP babies spend most of their time hiding anyway it wasn't obvious.

You can start by describing their setups, temps and humidity, where you bought them (pet shop, local breeder, shipped from non-local seller, etc), did both come from the same seller, did they have mites when they arrived, are you feeding live or f/t, what size feeders, what was the source of the feeders... and I'm sure others will have more questions.

Yes they both came from the same breeder, no mites, eating live adult mice. Feeders came from the same place I got the babies from. Temp was an issue once and resolved a few weeks ago.

Sorry for your loss, it would be really hard to say without a necropsy.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost a corn snake last year--unexpectedly and remember how awful that feeling is. Take comfort knowing you gave them a good home and lots of love. Try not to 'blame' yourself or think you caused it.
