    Still Hungry?

So my girl came out of her hide and starting looking around. Since it's so close to feeding day, I offered a rat pup and she happily took it. After finishing it, she went back into her hide.

Well, she stuck her head out and even tried to strike at me when I was changing out her water dish, and now she's out again doing the same thing... looking around, going all over the place like she's hunting for something...

Should I offer her another rat pup? My husband keeps telling me I'm going to overfeed her.

She is around 260 grams, and the rat pups are between 20-30 grams. Should she be getting more than one at each meal?

Ok, so she should just go up a size in prey all together then? I bought a bag of rat pups because that's what the breeder had her on before I got her.

You can always go by the 10 percent rule. Simply feed a rat that is 10 percent of the snakes weight. For example in your case a 25 gram rat pup. I usually go a little higher than 10 percent my coral glow male is about the size of yours (260 grams). He is taking 30-35 gram pups. Hope this helps

    Re: Still Hungry?

Just reread your post. Realized you said 260 grams. Oops
