my first ball python setup, any tips?

This is what I have for my male ball python I hope to get in october at the michigan reptile show in taylor, michigan.

    Its a 16 qt tub.

I will be using newspaper as a substrate.

I have half of a capri sun box as a hide. I crumpled up some newspaper and put it in the hide and next to it for other options to go.

I will be using a small van ness crock bowl for water.

I will be heating it with a 6x11 ultratherm heat pad from reptile basics and monitoring the temp and humidity with a dual digital gauge from reptile basics.

I am going to move him into a 28 qt tub when he's big enough and that's where he will live for the rest of his life.

Anything I'm missing or other tips? My budget for my snake is $50, what cool morphs could I get? And I won't be breeding so I'm not interested in hets.

I'm not sure if you can get anything more than a normal with 50 bucks. I paid 100 for my Spider, and he was originally 150. Good luck with the new addition!

ts not going to cover the whole thing. I just do t want to have to buy 2 heat pads when I can just buy the one for the 28 qt and just use half of it for the 16 qt
