haha, yeah it does suck... I'm not sure how much trouble I'd get into if I had one.... but I think they'd take it away from me at least... but it's not like anyone would know if I got one....;-) but no, they don't sell them in stores around here....

You *can* get a permit from DNR, you just have to be willing to have your premises inspected, pay the fee, and do 12 hours of education annually. Then you can have up to two of most native species.

    GOLIATH!

I just talked to a friend of mine, and he says that corns are not illegal, and that he's got a friend who's a herpatologist who breeds and sells cornsnakes in my town. I'm confused... hah, I'm gonna give him a call a little later today though..

My brother has 2 ferrets, and those are illegal in California. Not that I'm encouraging you to break the law or anything. If there was a way to do it legally (like doing the stuff Marla said), he probably would have done that.

I just talked to him, and he breeds them in South Carolina, so technically they're not native to Georgia... or something like that, so they're legal here... but he doesn't have any as of now.. :-( Oh well, I think he may get some soon.

actually, owning any species that is native to georgia is illegal, regardless of its origin, or where you acquired it. trust me, i've looked into it, as i would like to keep corns myself. i would give you the direct text from the dept. of natural resources web site, but for whatever reason, it is down right now. i'll post it later when it comes back up again.
