Where to locate temp probe for alarm?

So I'm going to redo my tank Saturday and have a quick question. I already have a Vivarium Electronics VE 100 thermostat that I'll be placing the probe for under the tank sandwiched between the tank bottom and the UTH. I also ordered a Thermoworks RT8100 min/max thermometer with alarm, should I place the probe for this between the tank and UTH too? This seems like the most logical place but on the tank setup thread here the temp probe is placed inside the tank above the UTH which seems odd.
    Cheers, Jeff

The reason you put a thermometer probe inside the tank over the UTH is to know the exact temperature of the belly heat and adjust the thermostat accordingly.
