Hot Spot vs. Ambient temps
I have two UTH in my BP's enclosure. One on each side. Warm side set to 90 and cool side set to 88. I need a little clarification please!
With both of these do I need to worry about ambient heat? I have a CHE on the warmer side that keeps ambient heat around 83 and the cool side around 78.
I had read that some people don't worry as much about ambient temps if they have hot spots. Is this correct or should I keep the ambient temps up and does my temps sound correct?
Humidity is ranging from 60ish on warm side and upper 60s on cool side.

I think we need some clarification as well. Are your belly heat temperatures actually 90 and 88? A 2 degree difference isn't enough to consider one the warm side and one the cool side.

Yes, belly heat is only slightly different. The ambient temp is about 5 degrees cooler. Should I drop the cool side UTH down to around 80? What about ambient temps?

Yes ambient temp matters. If your home is warm enough that is stays close to the target range then you would not need deal with it but if it is not the che is a good idea. Your numbers sound good but the cool side does need to drop. It should be near 80. The ambient temp should be around 78-80.

Forgive me! I'm a little slow. Let me make sure I understand.
Warm side belly heat at 90
Warm side ambient around 83-85
Cool side belly heat at 80
Cool side ambient 78-80
Correct?
I do have everything on TSTATS so it's only a matter of taking the time to reset and monitor temps for a bit.

If you can recreate the numbers in your last post you will be doing fine.

So you have no cool side and UTH are not for heating the ambient temps.
Drop your cool side to 79/80ish
