Just outright illegal? I can't stand lockdowns. Freedom these days is only won with bribes. I'll contact some people to find out, though. Of course if anyone here knows for sure, go ahead and beat me to it.

OK, so according to that page, they do issue permits, but I wonder if they only issue them to zoos or people who are keeping them for a specific purpose (rehabilitation, reintroduction, education, et cetera). I didn't have any idea emerald boas and their python brethren weren't allowed here. One of my other loves. Or two, but they're honestly pretty much the same snake to me. Obviously I'm no taxonomist, although I am aware of the differences, so you all don't have to lunge at me.

Update: http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/dfg...e-as-pets.html Official page, and it makes no mention of either green tree pythons or emerlad tree boas being illegal. It also clarifies my previous question: yes, you can only get a permit for educational, conservational, or other similar purposes.

Ct has permits for hots but none have ever been issued
