Cool Are ceramic glazes safe for tank accessories?

Hello! I do ceramics as a hobby and was thinking of making some cool, unique hides for my little pastel this summer. I use all natural clays (which I've read are safe), but it's the glaze sealant that I'm not entirely sure about. It is essentially liquid clay paint mixed with powderized coloured glass, that melts to pottery when it's fired (giving it that glossy look/ability to hold water). I know it's safe for people, but reptiles are sensitive to all sorts of stuff, so I don't want to risk it!! If it works out, I'd love to possibly do custom work on Etsy :-)

We'll if it's all natural id assume let paint cure obv before placing in. Just be careful not to have a heat lamp over it. As it will get hot. Aswell to kinda waterproof it. So the ceramics don't absorb any dedications

if done right, you get an excellent surface. completely waterproof, smooth, easy to clean.

you just need to be sure that the glazes you are using are non-toxic. in the past, for some fancy colors, there have been glazes containing heavy metals like lead or arsenic. i think nowadays most glazes will be non-toxic.

BTW its not a paint, and its heat-resistant. the glaze melts in the furnace at a high temperature, its like solidified liquid glass when its done, its like porcelain. so once its cooled down, it doesnt need to be cured, i would just wash it.

keep in mind that you can glaze over the piece several times, you can mix different colors and have them running down the sides, or just add a layer when the first layer isnt complete enough or smooth enough. as long as you use non-toxic glazes, it will be just perfect.

if done right, it is the best surface finish that can be done in DIY.

Evolution is a fact, evolutionary theory explains why it happens and provides four different lines of evidence that coalesce to show that evolution is a fact. If you disagree, send me a PM.

Time Dilation is real, it is so real that all clocks if they are precise enough can measure it, and GPS could not possibly work without it.

The 4 philosophically most important aspects of modern science are: Evolutionary theory, Cosmology, Quantum mechanics, and Einsteins theory of general relativity. Understand these to get a grip of reality.
