Lighting in the tank for the day/night cycle

I was wondering what kind of bulb and what wattage to use for my snake's day/night cycle. I have a 100w infrared bulb that stays on 24hrs, but I don't think my room is bright enough for the day cycle. I looked on the internet at what others have used and many have said that a 75w GE white house bulb or something similar is what they use. Is that okay to use for my terrarium?

    Thanks

If your snake is a ball python, then you can use whatever to provide light. BP's do not need anything special. I would sugest something in LED. Here is a thread about LED but for night use but it can be for day as well.
