    Boy How Time Flies!

Tomorrow will be a year since I bought my first two morphs. My spider Aphrodite, and my Pinstripe Archimedes.

Within that year, I've purchased 8 more snakes too. I guess you can say I'm addicted.

When I brought them home my spider girl only weighed 93 grams, today she weighs 888 grams. My little pinstripe man weighed 94 grams, and now weighs 696 grams (he's a picky eater who won't eat a rat....)

Anyway for more experienced keepers out there, do you think that weight gain over the year is sufficient?

Does anyone else reminisce about how time flies with your babies, and how you can't believe they grow up so fast?
    I've got quite a few...

I can't wait to see mine grow!!
My little Mojave weighed 132 grams on 3-13-14. On April 10th she weighed in at 234 grams. She is not a picky eater. She turns on the prey search every 5th day and you had better not stick your hand in there. She hasn't bit me yet, but I haven't got close enough to find out! I can't wait to see where she is at in a year.

That's a reasonable progression over a year....it's not a race, and they can be picky...post up some pics if you've got them...

    Boy How Time Flies!

I think those are great growth rates for your snakes all of them grow at a different pace so none of us could say your snake didn't grow enough in it's first year of life since they are all so different. Bubo will be a year old June 8 and I think he will be right around 500 grams by then. And yes I definitely reminisce about how he used to fit in the palm of my hand and try to bite my nose lol now he's growing up so fast and has become such a sweetie. I have a new addition, a little girl, who is as greedy as can be so I'm thinking she's going to be a day piggy by her first birthday lol. And I agree^^ would love to see pics of the snakies!! 😊

Totally agree. I dont know why a lot of newer owners try to stuff their BPs with the biggest prey they will eat. It's a pet that lives for 20 or more years. If it takes it 2 years to get to 1kg so be it. Don't know what the rush is all about.

I do agree completely that it is not a race. I'm just trying to make sure that my guys are doing good and are at normal weight level for their ages.

I have aspirations to be a breeder in the coming years, but I've got nothing but time and want to make sure I do things right for my sake, and the snakes. Its not about the money for me, its about the love for the hobby, and to try and make something awesome.

Let me try to find some good before and after pics of the little ones.
    I've got quite a few...
