    Black Bean Background! - DUW

So, yesterday I received a text from my boyfriend saying to pick up a few bags of black beans on my way home. Kasey used them as a background to take some pictures of our animals!

There photos were taken indoors in natural ambient light, some photos were taken with flash, others weren't.

What I love about these photos is that it actually captures the hypo animals really well, and we don't have to drag out the light tent and all the lights when we want to take pictures!

    Anyways, here are some photos

2012 Female Pied. This girl just shed! She went on a mini hunger strike, but she is back to feeding and is over 900 grams now!

2013 Female POG. Tim produced this girl last year, and she is absolutely glowing at almost 600 grams!

2013 Male Banana @ 550grams. This boy....I still can't believe I have a banana! I will randomly take him out and walk around doing a happy dance. My dog looks at me weird when I do it, though! :p

2012 Female Spotnose @ 850 grams. She was posing funny, but this photo is very true to her actual colors. I love how black the blacks are, and the contrast of the sandy gold.

2012 Female Enchi #2 @450 grams. This is one of my slowest growers. She eats a small rat every week, but just doesn't seem to be putting on any weight! Good thing I am not in a rush She will definitely be worth the wait

2013 Female Hypo Fire @ 650 grams. Yes, I joined the hypo fire club. Can you blame me?!

    2013 Female RDR Lesser @ 450 grams.

2013 Female Super Pastel poss YB @ 350 grams. She was being a little shy

2011 Female Hypo Mojave @ 1500 grams. Finally photos that do this girl justice!

Last, we have our 2012 Male Clown! He is 700 grams and still so bright! This boy can be pretty shy when it comes to picture time, but we still managed to snap a few cute pictures!

If I had a banana ball, I would dance too. LOVE that Hypo Mojave girl, though. One of, if not my favorite, morph. Getting one after my Crystal comes in.

This might be the dumbest question ever but is it possible to use this as a substrate?

I don't know about beans being used as substrate, but it sure did make for some good pictures and very cheap! I think the POG, Hypo Mojave and clown turned out really great

Yeah I'm guessing they would absorb the water too much and eventually mold before it was worth using. Just a thought. I know it would look really nice in my cages. It would deff. make my snakes stand out and look nice!

i know you can use crushed corn or popcorn as substrate. and sand boas are often kept in rice.

but beans... i dont think so. at the beginning, they would not absorb liquids very well, so urine would just go to the bottom and spread out. and once they start absorbing it, they will start to soften up and grow, then they die and mold.

but if you can use a wood-based substrate, why use a food-based substrate? so much food is wasted that people are starving, while at the same time theoretically there would be enough to feed 13 billion people.

i really like the pictures, its amazing how clearly this substrate shows the difference between hypos and non-hypos.
The Big Bang almost certainly (beyond reasonable doubt) happened 13.7 billion years ago. If you disagree, send me a PM.
Evolution is a fact, evolutionary theory explains why it happens and provides four different lines of evidence that coalesce to show that evolution is a fact. If you disagree, send me a PM.
One third of the global economy relies on technology that is based on quantum mechanics, especially quantum electrodynamics (electron-photon or electron-electron interactions). If you disagree, send me a PM.
Time Dilation is real, it is so real that all clocks if they are precise enough can measure it, and GPS could not possibly work without it.
If you disagree, send me a PM.

The 4 philosophically most important aspects of modern science are: Evolutionary theory, Cosmology, Quantum mechanics, and Einsteins theory of general relativity. Understand these to get a grip of reality.
