Reptile Basics Heating Issue

Hi,

I recently bought a RB 30QT iris sweaterbox rack and I seem to be having some heating issues. So, I have my herpstat hooked up to it and I place the temp probe directly on the heat tape to get the reading. I placed it on the second tier. However, my third tier has been getting some really high temps so I don't if there's something wrong with the heat tape, etc? I have my herpstat set to 95 to get about 88-89 inside the tub on the hot side (is this something that other people do as well), but the third tier read all the way up to 115, but when I placed the temp probe on the 3rd tier the rest of the tiers were only getting up to 85-86 on the hot side.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a guessing this is the one you have?
Did you get back or belly heat?
