    So I got a T...

Which for me is a huge deal because I've spent a good portion of my life scared of spiders. The last year or so I've been making myself face it and get over it and I feel like I pretty much have. I got a G. Rosea. Not the original species I wanted for my first. I wanted to get a B. vagans or a G. pulchripes first. However they are IMPOSSIBLE to find locally around here. I am going to have to wait until it warms up (if it ever does) to get one shipped. I was willing to wait but this ended up being too tempting. It was on a local facebook group for 10 dollars, with the enclosure. Yeah, kinda hard to pass that up lol. Not sure if it's a male or female but I'm calling it Peanut because the name works either way. Here are a couple of quick pics I took before I left it alone to settle in.

    The enclosure.

Excuse my craft table I used to take the pictures. It's a mess lol. Thanks for looking

Yeah I'm preparing lol. I still plan on getting the B. vagans and the G. Pulchripes when I can since this one didn't do any damage to my "T" budget. I DID see a very cute pink toe tonight at the pet store when I stopped to get crickets for this one. Don't know how much it was because they had just gotten it in and it was still in quarantine.

hahahahaha I was afraid of spiders like a year ago. now.... well lets just say i've got a serious addiction Congrats on the new pet! I would say by the size of its abdomen an relative leg span vs body size it is PROBABLY a female. that is in no way a certainly but i've had and seen several hundred G rosea and after a while it just gets kinda easy to get a decent educated guess on the sex of them. but there's always a few that fool ya. The only sure fired way to sex it is via a molt. Enjoy her she's very lovely!

Thanks. I'm enjoying her. Every time I look at her though I'm still sort of amazed I got one lol. Every one else has pretty much said the same thing as you. They said she's most likely female, but won't know for sure until she molts. I'm probably going to add a few more as soon as it warms up enough for shipping. I swear spring needs to get here. I have snakes and spiders to order dangit! lol.

Fuzzy spiders are cool. Hairless ones are creepy
