    Fast Has Been Broken!

    Good evening all!

Just wanted to pop in and say that my big Male 06 Normal finally ate for me! This is the first time since 10/24/13. I was so excited I literally jumped when he struck at that rat.

During that time he went from 1,870 grams to 1,705 grams.

Thanks for reading, I'm so excited.
    I've got quite a few...

Always a good feeling when one that has been fasting eats. Just had one end a fast from last July until last week.

Our het pied female went off food for 13 months then right before breeding season started pounding food. Now she has 7 follicles in her and hopefully will lay 7 good eggs in a couple months.

Nice! And great example of how little weight they lose when they're fasting on their own. The weight that yours lost is only a little under 9% of the total body weight.

I had a female that hadn't eaten in about 6 months break her fast the other day. She ate hopper mice as a baby. When I got her in my care she switched to rats fine and ate them for a long time. All of a sudden one day she started refusing them. I tried live, ft, small, big - nothing worked. She only lost about 20 grams from 800ish to 780ish during that time. Eventually I caved and threw a mouse in there the other day and she took it immediately.

Needless to say she will end up going up for sale if she doesn't switch back readily...

THAT's why I feed my snakes rat crawlers right out of the egg.
