I have a couple left in the freezer as well I ordered some on Black Friday when they had the $20 shipping, since rodent pro is actually pretty expensive to me since their shipping makes up for the price of the cheap feeders. Im so glad I read this those rats are getting thrown out today!! My snakes have been avoiding these rats like the plague but I thought they were just fasting as they usually do but I think those rats are playing a factor as well. Thanks so much for posting!! I had no idea!! Try to avoid the $5 each rats at aquatic critter and start getting possibly toxic rats! Omg! Such a nightmare! To Big Cheese Rodents I shall go! Thanks so much for posting this again omg...

Before you go bashing (or not) RP, the OP hasn't returned to state the source of the feeders for the affected snakes, or if their skin condition ever cleared up, got worse, etc.

While I do agree that we should know what the source of feeders was for these particular snakes, that article I posted was not associated with those snakes in any way and the information was there before these particular snakes came to light. There are documented negative affects of RP rats including, but not limited to, discoloration and loss of pigment. Not bashing RP at all, but these are things any responsible snake owner should be aware of.

Re: Discolored Patches on Snakes
Oh I know! It just looked like people were jumping to the conclusion that RP's feeders were the cause of the problem, and we don't know that. I've also never ordered from RP and likely never will, so I have no reason to either criticize or defend them; I have local sources of bulk/frozen feeders so thankfully no need to pay high shipping fees!
I do wish the OP would give us an update on the snakes though in case someone else has the same problem in the future.
