After a year finally some good news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I are finally going to be moving into our place. Originally we had moved to where we are now due to a bad situation in our old place that does not really need explaining to be honest. It should have only been for a few months while a few things got sorted out but for what ever reason that never happened. Now after a year we are finally buying our own place. We close in a few weeks!!!!!!!!!! It is not huge nor what we were originally supposed to get but it is what we want and that is what matters.

Congrats! We bought a bigger house than we needed...know what we did with all that extra space? Filled it with a bunch of crap we don't need. Next house we buy will be smaller...

We are getting a 2 bed 2 bath trailer in a park. But it will be ours and after 2 years we will be able to move it to our own land. We also have a huge insulated shed that has electricity already and its own breaker box as well so that is where the herps are going. It could not have come at a better time either because just as we are closing on it we are also getting our tax return back so we will be able to get all that we need as well.

That sounds awesome...especially the shed. Do you already have the property? Or is that the next purchase? We eventually plan on doing the same thing you are...we really need to purge all the crap we don't need and get back to the basics...

We already have it. It is just over 5 acres undeveloped so right now it is just somewhere for me to go to relax and camp when I want to.

I am beyond happy with it. Not so happy about how we got it. It was left to us in a will about mid year. But it will be put to great use. I already have plans to grow a lot of veggies and have some chickens and all that fun stuff. I am some what of a prepper, not the crazy ones, and like being ready for the poop to fly. Not sure if we will have enough land for a cow or 3 so I gotta look into that. Honestly I am not sure on what all could be kept there. I really want to have some goats and pigs but not sure if that is possible. I have no clue about those things. Now to figure out how to make a windmill so I can not pay for energy. I really want to go off the grid as much as possible.

If you have yet, do some reading on permaculture. Lots of self sustaining stuff that you can do in your land, hard work that pays off, seems like the fun stuff that you'd like.

I am some what of a prepper, not the crazy ones, and like being ready for the poop to fly.

We're the same way...we don't have an underground bunker with 10 tons of food, but we do have some supplies and plans in place in case things get ugly...you'd be a fool not to, imo. We are prepared to defend ourselves and our "stuff" and my wife knows a lot about what's edible and what's not and we both have some basic survival skills...we're not obsessed with it, but we're not gonna get caught with our shorts around our ankles either...

I feel that if you are not ready it will happen but when you are ready it will not happen. So I am always ready. I do carry some basic things on me and have quite a bit of knowledge on primitive survival. I just refuse to stock pile years of stuff for it to go to waste. I wish there were more people around me to learn more from and pass along what I know as well.

I was kinda forced to learn what I know. I was homeless for about 6 months in winter in Washington state. Kinda had to figure it out as I went along.
