Snake ID? somewhat graphic

So..the cat next door won't stay out of my yard. Today I noticed he had a snake, so I went to see what kind. Unfortunately, I was too late to save him in any way :-/

I live in Central Florida....not sure what snakes are native around here, just wondering what kind he was-cool lookin' fella
