just a quick question
I've had AK now for about 5 weeks and he has never went into his hides till today he ate yesterday and went to his normal place (ontop his hide on the hot side). Well today I was him go into his cool hide and ushually after he eats he dont move till the next night about 24 hours after he eats well today he was back and forth between his hides actually getting in them and moving all his bedding out and balling up in them and I cant understand why he has started changing his routine his temps are the same humidity the same nothings diffrent any ideas I also went to get him out like I do every night and he just moved extremly quick to his other hide so I took this as he was just trying to sleep since he had been back and forth through his tank all day

What are you using to heat the cage?
What are you using to measure temperatures with?
Do you have anything controlling your heat source(s)?

Re: just a quick question
What are you using to heat the cage? I have a uth under the right side with a thermastate conected to it also a 60 watt heat light
What are you using to measure temperatures with? I have 2 diffrent digital thermometer one on each side
Do you have anything controlling your heat source(s) I cant think of the name of it but have the lights set on 75 on the cold side and 85 on the hot side they turn on and off as needed also have the humidity fogger the same way bought everything as packages so I knew it all went together
Sorry its late here cant think of names ofthe actual equipment

As long as the lamps and the UTH are being controlled by separate units it should be fine.
Sometimes snakes just act funny. As long as your cage has a hot side between 88-92 degrees F, a cool side between 78-82 degrees F, and humidity between 40%-60% You shouldn't have to worry too much.

Re: just a quick question
I think he is getting ready to shed again possibly not 100% sure of that yet he shed a few days after we got him but ive noticed him rubbing his head on everything in his cage could it possibly be that I havent raised his humidity yet couse if im wrong and hes not getting ready to shed I dont want him getting scale rot

If he is preparing to shed then his scales will have a dull or faded apperance and the eyecaps turn cloudy. It could be he was just cruising around, being a snake. My normal girl did that yesterday for about six hours, between one side and the other. Nothing to be concerned about.
