    Lightning Pied?

On genetic wizard, the ingredients are a pied x axanthic and it says those two produce a het pied het axanthic… so all normals? then what do those normals give to create the "lightning pied"?

    It's a double recessive.

You breed the pied to the axanthic to get a bunch of double hets. You take the double hets and breed them to each other (or another double het you have) and hope you hit both recessives on the offspring.

thats the thing about recessives..... they are recessives.

its the same for all diploid species, which includes humans, so for a reference, just check genetics. the basics. like, that each cell has two copies of each chromosome, the only exception being those for sexual reproduction, egg and sperm, that contain only one.
The Big Bang almost certainly (beyond reasonable doubt) happened 13.7 billion years ago. If you disagree, send me a PM.
Evolution is a fact, evolutionary theory explains why it happens and provides four different lines of evidence that coalesce to show that evolution is a fact. If you disagree, send me a PM.
One third of the global economy relies on technology that is based on quantum mechanics, especially quantum electrodynamics (electron-photon or electron-electron interactions). If you disagree, send me a PM.
Time Dilation is real, it is so real that all clocks if they are precise enough can measure it, and GPS could not possibly work without it.
If you disagree, send me a PM.

The 4 philosophically most important aspects of modern science are: Evolutionary theory, Cosmology, Quantum mechanics, and Einsteins theory of general relativity. Understand these to get a grip of reality.

    Re: Lightning Pied?

Or to improve your odds breed the 100% double hets to a visual of either morph giving you (in theory, which I hear is a great place to live) 50% visual morphs. These would be a mix of either pied or axanthic(depending on which visual you bred the hets to) and lightning pieds. The single gene morphs would then also have a chance of being recessive for the other gene and the "normals" would be 100% het for the visual gene and 50% het for the other.

You still have to treat the critters well and, burn a ton of offerings on the altar of the odds gods. But, it should improve your chances.

Getting two double gene animals, each with a dom/co-dom gene and a recessive, will yield you a "prettier" off the bat, if you are lucky enough. But if you breed a standard Pied to a standard Axanthic, yes, what hatches out will look like an awful lot of normals. However, each one of them will be 100% DH pied and ax.

To make the visual, you breed two 100%DHs together. And then, as mentioned above, give many sacrifices to the odds gods to give you a baby that hits both genes.

I'm actually not going this route with mine specifically to avoid 50% hets, I feel like it just adds a third generation into the process of trying to hit the visual double. With DH x DH at least everything else is 66% het and you at least have a (small) chance of hitting the visual double.
