V-18 or 6 qt?
Which is preferred for hatchling ball pythons? Are there pros and cons? I'm just curious as to what the population of keepers believes and would advise. Thank you in advance

Re: V-18 or 6 qt?
I have both 6 qt hatchling racks and a few V18 racks. I prefer 6qt tubs for hatchlings up to 400 grams. If the animal doesn't seem to be easily stressed I will move them into a V18 and see how they do. I keep them in V18 tubs until they are about 800 grams, but a 1000 gram snake is still comfortable in a v18. I provide all hatchlings with a small hide, and most seem to use it.
If it is for animals you plan on moving quickly, I would go with the 6qt. If you want it to be a combo of hatchling/grow out tubs, go with the V18 tub.

I have the V18 and my babies were about 69 and 75 grams they went well in there with a hide and water bowl. My 500 gram female fits in there as well. I love them.
Soon gotta get bigger ones!

For hatchlings you are going to sell and only keep a short while? Or hatchlings you intend to keep to adulthood?

I plan on keeping them for a short while, but if they don't sell I will be keeping them. So what about the V-15 is that better for the hatchling? I figured that'd be too small but then again I haven't seen a baby in about a year so I guess that might be perfect...

For ones people intend to keep as pets my opinion leans towards getting the bigger one. You can always add simple stuff like crumpled up paper to fill up space for the small ones who are having trouble and need clutter to add security, but you can't make a tub bigger if your snake outgrows it.
But I'm not a breeder yet, so you're probably looking for input from someone who currently deals with this from a breeder aspect.

Exactly but I do appreciate the feedback!
