    Question about POOP :/

So....Monty pooped for the first time, within a few days of us getting him on Nov.15th. Since that day, he has eaten 5 mice & one small rat, without pooping. Today was feeding day and when I went to put the mouse in, I noticed some urates behind the thermometer base. I moved it to be able to get at it, and saw that he had pooped too. Then, when taking it out, I noticed that the one end of the poop seemed to have fur on it & kind of resembled the shrunken head of a mouse/rat. Is that normal? Do they not digest fully? For a moment I almost wondered if it was actually regurg & not poop, only because it didn't smell at all. The first time he pooped, it stunk up the whole house.

Anything to be concerned about here?

A pic is worth a thousand turds...er...words. Seriously though, hard to tell what's going on without a picture...probably nothing to worry about but a pic would help...

Damn, wish I would've thought about that before I threw it away. Maybe when I get home from work I can fish it out.

I wouldn't worry too much about it...just keep an eye on him and make sure he keeps eating/pooping/peeing/shedding and all will be good...

Speaking of peeing.....I'm questioning how I will know if he pees, besides the obviously visible urates, because his substrate is misted every day to retain moisture.....

Hmmm...with newspaper it's easy to tell. With aspen it usually ends up a darker patch/area. With a darker substrate, I'm not sure. Sniff test?

Regurgitation will smell absolutely fowl and you will know it when you see it. As for the smell, or lack there of, if it's over the UTH then the odor will be much more noticeable. So it's probably nothing to worry about.

It's too bad you didn't save it, you probably could have sold it on Ebay.

Sniff test.... lol! I can never smell anything bad in there, aside from the one time that he pooped. And I am using EcoEarth, so it is already on the dark side, but then when I mist it, it turns even darker. :/

Is it possible to just have the urates?

Usually with urates there's at least a little pee...
