Ball python and a cold apartment.

In the next week or so I'm going to get my first BP. I've done a ton of research and i'm worried that I won't be able to keep the ambient temperature in the 75-80 degree range. This is due to my apartment being in the 60-65 degree range during the winter. I thought about keeping the BP in my closet as I have future plans of breeding them, but my washer/dryer combo is located there and when I use the dryer the humidity soars.

What do you guys recommend me doing?

I live in the north-east and thought I'd have trouble with the cold as well. I purchased a space heater that I keep near the cage and it seems to be doing a good job of warming the air in the immediate vicinity. I try to keep my ambient room temperature around 70, but I've seen it fall into the mid to upper 60's. The space heater does a good job of bringing this temperature up around my cage.

I plan on using a 20L gallon tank and use a UTH to to heat the warm side of the cage.

I would like to avoid using a space heater if possible, but will do that if all my other options are exhausted.

You shouldn't need a space heater. Just set your cage up like in this thread and you should be fine.

You can use a CHE (ceramic heat emitter) suspended above the tank just to warm the air if you don't want to use a space heater.

I was thinking about purchasing sponge neoprene to put around three sides of the tanks, but it looks like I probably won't need to do that. Will I notice a spike in my power bill if I have a CHE and UTH running 24/7?

I've got 5 terrariums all with uth and another heat source running all the time and didn't notice a huge spike in mine, so you should be ok! But cant say for sure.

I don't notice a difference and I have a 30 ft of heat cable running through my rack, and I would also avoid a space heater anyway, it'll kill the humidity. I live In an apartment in MN, and my ambient stays pretty good, usually stays at the acceptable 10 degree difference between cold-hot side

I think i'm going to use a CHE to raise the ambient temperature and since i'll be using that i'm sure it will kill my humidity.

What should I use to cover the top portion of my tank that will keep in heat and humidity?

Also, I guess I can't really hold my snake if the ambient temperature is too cold in my apartment?
