    Moonglow

I am wanting to possibly make some moonglows, and I have an Albino female.

My question is, is there any male I can get that will provide this pairing him with her, or am I going to have to do a couple breedings and use some hets I produce to get to this goal??

You will have to wait as the Moonglow is a triple gene animal two of those genes Anery & Albino are recessive.

Moonglows are a triple gene animal. Your albino would have to be het anery (or dh snow) then paired with a hypo th moonglow, sunglow het anery, or ghost het albino.

You could shoot for sunglows instead and pick up a hypo het albino. You'd have instant results with that.

No, there is no such thing as an "anery ghost". A ghost IS an anery - it is a double gene animal: a hypo anery.

A moonglow is a triple gene animal: a hypo anery albino.

Anery and albino are recessive. Hypo is dominant. If your female is a single gene albino (not het anery), then you cannot produce a moonglow directly from her. If you bred her to a ghost het albino, the offspring will be albinos and sunglows (hypo albinos) 100% het anery. If you bred a female sunglow back to the father, you could then have moonglows in the resulting offspring.

If you want to breed moonglows yourself using your current female, that would be the fastest way to do it.

If you want to produce moonglows in the first generation, I would suggest you pick up a snow (anery albino) and either a sunglow het anery or a ghost het albino and breed those. You'd get moonglows in the first generation with that.

    Re: Moonglow

Yet another reason I prefer OWAL's genetic calc over the WoBP one, if you look at the top there is a boa calc too.

    http://www.owalreptiles.com/boagenetics.php

I only have the one BCL atm but could see getting more Carpets and Boa's and, this is going to be a huge aid in understanding the BCI morphs.
