Zoo med vs zilla vs any other retile products

anyone here have a specific brand of merchandise from a specific company they constantly deal with for there enclosures.. I'm talking UTHs,bedding, bowls, hides, domes, bulbs etc....

what company do you feel is most consistent and most reliable with reptile products.

    thnx,
    Jay

Walmart and home depot are the greatest reptile supply stores around.

Yes I could imagine, when it comes to all types of bedding and what night, domes etc..but I've also heard that beddings from Home Depot or lowes is not treated and being around all these plants have to worry about mites and tics etc...I have also seen people around here speak about getting thermometers for humidity and heat from walmart,I don't remember where I got my thermometer,I believe it's a zilla one..my thermostat is by hydrofarm

I use paper towels for bedding and heat the room so no domes needed.
I changes a lot of things once I got over 10 snakes and then changes more after I added my 3rd rack.

Enclosures - IRIS tubs or Animal Plastics(displays and racks)
UTH - Ultratherm heat pads or THG heat tape
Bedding - Local free newspaper, Cypress mulch(not sure on brand) from garden center, Harlan Teklad Aspen, America's Choice Eco Flakes.
Bowls - dollar store pet bowls. (I'm thinking about changing to delicups + pvc couplings)
Hides - dollar store cereal bowls, salad bowls, and kitty litter pans.
Domes - don't use lights or bulbs
Thermostat - Herpstat (nothing better than a Herpstat)

I think for reptile stuff in general, most products carried by Reptile Basics and Animal Plastics are great.

I have Sterilite/Rubbermaid tubs, but I think IRIS tubs are better. They're a little bit more pricy, but they stick with their tub designs. Sterilite and Rubbermaid change their tub designs often so if you want a replacement for a rack, it's almost impossible to find a replacement in a few years unless you stock up.

Yeah I'd imagine the more pets you get the harder it would be to have domes etc...the more snakes the best option and really only option is a rack set up,obviously. I'd also think paper towel substrate can be messy at times, but I don't have experience with it,just making an assumption at the moment.

genous ideas, really!!! PVC is a great material to use for enclosures I've heard...I want to check out animal plastics and reptile basics and see what they got. I do a lot of buying and searching on eBay. But yeah it's amazing how cheap a set up can be.. Me personally, since I only have two and both in tanks,I try to give the look of a real enviroment. Pleasing to the human eye and I feel my snakes feel at home. Guess when. Have a rack system it don't matter what u use,as long as u have the temps, humidity and set ups down pact.

LLL Reptile all the way! Excellent selection, reasonable prices, and very friendly and knowledgeable people at all their stores. Also, they have a great website for those not near their stores in Southern California. Heading to their Oceanside, CA store in the morning for their Black Friday deals!
