I was wondering if Aspen Bedding is okay, to use with Reptiles?
Just making sure.

Aspen Bedding -
Yes, just watch out for mold, which can develop quickly when aspen is exposed to moisture for long periods of time. Good ventilation helps when using this substrate...but also keep in mind the effects this may have on humidity-sensitive species.

Nah, you might be confused with other woods like pine and cedar and such, which have high phenol levels. Those are bad. Haven't heard anything about aspen being bad though. Maybe I'm wrong.

I've been using aspen for several months now with my juveniles. I've had no problem whatsoever. The snakes are healthy, and the water python loves burrowing in it like those things in "Tremors." I admit, it does work better for colubrids, which don't have the humidity requirements that the pythons do, but if you're vigilant in your husbandry you shouldn't have a problem. The aspen in our Durango Mountain Kingsnake's tank only has to be changed when he makes a mess. The aspen in the ball python enclosures get changed once a week. The aspen in the water python's tank gets checked daily. I usually take out the damp aspen every other day and do a full change once a week.

I don't feed my baby in its enclosure, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Yep - or just put down a paper towel with the prey item on top of it.

I use aspen bedding and have been using it for a while now. Its great its easy to clean and is very cheap i think i got a 10 pound bag for like 6 Bux from Petsmart. The snakes like it because it offers some texture and it also makes spotting mites and other pests easier to spot.
Thanks,
Damien
