HI all,
I wanted to introduce you too our two newest troublemakers...
Up first please meet the stinkpot, or common musk turtle (Sternotherus odaratus)
Secondly please meet the false map turtle
(Graptemys pseudogeographica pseudogeographica)
As you can see in the last picture, the false map has been casted in small areas along his femoral plate on his plastron. We are not sure how he received these cracks and puncture wounds. We can only assume it was an animal attack of some sort.
These two were turned over by a woman who did dog and cat rescue. Apparently they were dropped off to her, and she housed then in a small bucket in her backyard. Her daughter found that that was not the most suitable home for them and they contacted us.
They are both acclimating well.
Thanks
Rusty
