A pic of your setup would help. We also need to know what your using as a heat source, if its regulated, size if tank, type of hides. Plus we need what you attempted to feed, how you prepared it, how you presented it.

i have a uth on a thermostat to heat the warm side and i have a ceramic heating light with a thermostat also on the cool side just because its cold in my house and its a 15 gallon tank with a couple half logs and some drift wood where he hide in them. i have tired f/t hoppers that i set out for about two hours to let it thaw and i held it by the mouse by the tail with my hand then tired to use tongs and i also tired covering the tanks for complete dark and still no luck.

Log hides are no good... they do not make them feel secure enough. The prey is not warm enough for him to realize it's food, after thawing you must heat it thoroughly to body temp or the heat pits don't recognize it. Hot tap water for 15 minutes works, using a blow dryer is another method

Put the prey in a zip bag and submerge in hot tap water for 15-20 minutes after they are thawed. I actually thaw all on my feeders in hot water. I let them sit until they are thawed them change the water out for fresh hot water and them serve. When you give the head of the prey a little squeeze it should be warm and the guts need to have no cold spots.

You want hides with only one door that offers your snake a snug fit. Many use these. They are cheap, study, and easy to clean. http://www.reptilebasics.com/hide-boxes
