Feeding Bulge Question
Hey guys I'm back with yet another question. So yesterday night was feeding time which went well but I noticed my boa, but especially my ball still would a decently large bulge in their stomach when I checked them out about 18 hours after they ate. Is this normal and I'm just impatient or did I feed prey that was too large? Thanks for your help!

Typically, the best size prey is to match it with the widest girth of the snake.
A little bulge is ok with balls.
But if you can see it in your boa, you might want to try a smaller size prey next time.

Re: Feeding Bulge Question
Doesn't sound like you did any real overfeeding on either specimen. Carry on as you and your specimens feel comfortable. My male boa was never a voracious eater, my female is though...I have completely different feeding regimens for both.

i think it just takes a while until the digestive process reaches the bones and dissolves them. and the food item will only really flatten and spread out when the bones are no longer intact.

Feeding Bulge Question
Sometimes it takes awhile for digestion to break everything down to the point of no lump. I also don't think you feed anything too big, if it was truly big the would/could not have eaten it.

I feed a little wider then my balls girth and within a day, when I check he looks like he never ate...I do keep overhead heat as well as a UTH,plus on feeding day I turn the UTH up a bit for a day or two or him to help with digestion. It goes from 87-89 to 90-91. Then after a a day and. Half give or take, back to round 88 or so
