The admin council has been discussing the fact that images are often posted that require most users to scroll sideways in order to view the image and the rest of the thread. Some of us think limiting the size would be a good idea, others think we should leave it alone. What do you think?

i think big pics are fine, scrolling over to see a cool pic isnt that bad, unless it is HUUGE.

    food bigger than a mouse

i picked 800, thats what i do with my pics, and the reason is, i go to a diff forum also, and with 800 its the perfect size, not too big so you have to scroll over, and it fits the whole page except for a little tiny margin

the reason you have to scroll over on here, is becasue of the menu bar on the side, the other forum has it going across the top

i picked 800 as well . . . might be a good idea to write up a quick tutorial on how to re-size the pic.

honestly i think 600 pixels wide is plenty. the amount of the screen it takes up is totally dependent on what resolution you have your monitor set for. i do a lot of web design, and as a general rule i never design anything over 700-750 pixels wide because it is best to avoid sideways scrolling altogether. it's just a lot nicer to be able to see the entire image on the screen all at once.

Mine are 500 pix wide. Seems like a good size to me.

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.

I chose unlimited after all that way the photographer gets to decide how they want their picture to be seen if you limit the size it can take away from the visiual impact of some photos
as you can see every one has their own opinoin of what size is best!

i think that it kinda takes away from the visual impact when you can't see the whole thing at once too though. maybe i just need to up the resolution on my monitor so it would all fit, but alas, i'm not so blessed in the great vision department.
