Cockroaches for snakes
Are there any snakes that eat hissing cockroaches? Do they have any nutritional value for any snake?
Just curiosity. I tried googling it out of curiosity but nothing came up, so it's probably a no, lol.

Re: Cockroaches for snakes
While most insects are high in protein, they lack most of the other necessary nutrition that snakes require.

Rough green snakes(Opheodrys aestivus) are insect eaters. While I never fed mine roaches I imagine they would tackle appropriately sized nymphs. They don't seem to be very picky once set up right, if it creeps and crawls it goes in the jaws.

rouch green snakes are cool, we actually have those here in VA and I had no idea they were insect eaters. I guess part of what I'm asking is also, is there any reason not to give one to a snake if it'll eat it? Not as a main staple I guess, since it doesn't have all of the necessary nutrients.

also please don't take this question too seriously, lol.

Well, I think that if the snake is native to an area, and the cockroaches are native to the same area... and the snake will eat it - so long as the cockroach is clean or parasites and as you said, is not a main food source - I don't see the harm in offering it as a treat.
But take my reasoning with a grain of salt
