This is Joe, actually... This is Josephine teeheehee, my sis' normal. She's living with us on a temp basis while my sister and nephew settle in. They just moved back home from Florida after being gone for 10 years. Joe is settling in after a 1 week road trip. She seems to be no worse for the wear and even had a perfect shed in route. She seems to be settled in already; thermoregulating, not balled up super tight, not defensive, even saw her drinking. Her mama forgot to pull the shed, stool, and urates out of her tank so i had to do that. She was easy to remove from the enclosure and was engaged and curious the moment I took her out, never balled up super tight doing her best pet rock impression. We do have her guaranteed from other beeper and boa. They aren't even on the same floor.
Dear Joe has quite the history. My sister got him, actually her, when she was about 2-2 1/2 feet long nine years ago. This little turkey did what snakes do best, she found her way out of her tank, went out a window, down a tree, and the POOF for count them.... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, ......... 13 months!!!!!!! One of the people in her trailer park or one of the near by houses happen to find her in their yard. This awesome women caught her, housed her, took photos, and put out flyers. My sis happened to see a flyer at her work. Can you imagine the shock? "Oh my god, oh my god, oh. my. god., it's JOE!!!!!! You know just as well as i do that she though her Joe was gone forever when no one found her within a month or two. Thanks to one dull, light scale on her head, and of course the rest of her pattern, they were able to compare photos and determine that it was in fact her Joe. How amazing is that!!?!!
So... Joe is just a normal beeper. She's 5 1/2" long and on the thin side because she likes to go on months long feeding strike. Her longest was a full year and last time they moved she struck for six months. She's got some beautiful faded areas. I bet Joe and our Julius would make some beautiful faded normals. Once she's settled in I'll try to get better photos of her.
